CTNG Counterdrug Program

MISSION:
The Connecticut National Guard Counterdrug program is focused on expanding community prevention efforts and enhancing federal, state, and local law enforcement capabilities to reduce the supply and demand for fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription pills and other illicit narcotics within Connecticut. We reduce supply by providing highly skilled and trained Investigative Analysts to Law Enforcement Agencies, while maximizing support to affect the greatest population centers. Additionally, through our Drug Demand Outreach Program (DDRO), we focus on prevention, education, and overdose response efforts within our local communities to reduce the demand for illegal narcotics.

INTELIGENCE ANALYSIS: 
Through our Criminal Analyst (CA) Team, we provide investigative case analysis support to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies (LEAs) focused on enforcing state and federal laws as it pertains to opioids and other illicit drugs in the State of Connecticut.

DRUG DEMAND REDUCTION AND OUTREACH: 
Our Drug Demand Reduction & Outreach (DDRO) team provides support to New England High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and other requesting law enforcement agencies (LEAs) through community-based prevention organizations (CBOs); specifically aimed at addressing opioid addiction and other illicit drug use and prescription drug misuse and diversion.

NO COST COUNTER NARCOTICS TRAINING:
Through the five regionally aligned National Guard Counterdrug Schools, the Connecticut National Guard Counter Drug program assists in the facilitation of no-cost counternarcotics training to Federal, State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcement agencies, as well as community-based organizations, and military personnel in order to enable them to disrupt, degrade, and defeat drug trafficking organizations and transnational criminal organizations that threaten United States national security interests and the public safety of United States citizens.
