Chief Master Sgt. John M. Gasiorek
Chief Master Sgt. John M. Gasiorek is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Chief Gasiorek serves as the principle advisor to the Adjutant General, Assistant Adjutant General of Air, staff and other key leaders on matters of health, welfare, morale, professional development, good order and discipline and the effective employment of the state’s approximately 900 enlisted Airmen.
Chief Master Sgt. Gasiorek began his military career in 1986 by enlisting in the United States Air Force, completing Basic Military Training and the United States Air Force Law Enforcement Specialist Course at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. His initial duty assignment was the 44th Security Police Squadron, Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, where he served as a law enforcement patrolman and was assigned to the elite guard section. In 1988, he was reassigned to the 2852nd Security Police Squadron, Taegu Air Base, South Korea, where he served as a patrolman supervisor and desk sergeant. One year later, he reported to the 509th Security Police Squadron, Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire, where he continued to serve as a desk sergeant and patrol supervisor. In 1991, he was reassigned to the 652nd Security Police Squadron, McClellan Air Force Base, California, where he was assigned to the Security Police Office of Investigations. In April 1998, Chief Gasiorek joined the Connecticut Air National Guard and was assigned to the 103rd Security Forces Squadron where he fulfilled duties as Information Security Program Manager and Security Forces Flight Sergeant. In 2010, he became a First Sergeant assigned to the 103rd Maintenance Group. While there, he deployed to Kandahar Air Base in Support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In 2012, Chief Gasiorek was selected as the 103rd Airlift Wing First Sergeant. In December 2015, he was promoted to chief master sergeant and, in 2016, was selected to serve as the 103rd Airlift Wing Command Chief. In June 2017, Chief Gasiorek was selected to serve as the CT State Command Chief Master Sergeant. Chief Gasiorek has worked for the National Insurance Crime Bureau since 2005 and was promoted to the position of Supervisory Special Agent in 2009, working with federal, state and local law enforcement managing and supervising insurance fraud investigations throughout all of New England.
