Connecticut National Guard Honor Guard (non-funeral honors)

The Honor Guard is a four-person formation of highly-polished military personnel in full service dress uniform. They act as a color guard, posting and retiring the flag and rendering to it the proper customs and courtesies. This time-honored traditional detail adds dignity and solemnity to any military-related activity while showing respect to our nation and those who have served it. To request a Connecticut National Guard Honor Guard, event organizers should submit a completed General Support Request Form DD2536.

Thank you for your interest in military support for your event.

Connecticut National Guard Bugler and/or Firing Party

A bugler and firing party traditionally are used at the funeral of a military veteran to render honors to a deceased person who has served our country, however, a bugler, or a bugler and firing party, may also be appropriate for certain other memorial ceremonies. In order to be considered for a bugler or a bugler and firing party, the ceremony must honor at least one military veteran. To request a Connecticut National Guard Bugler or Firing Party, event organizers should submit a completed General Support Request Form DD2536.

If you are looking for honors to be rendered at a funeral of a Military member or Veteran, please contact the Connecticut National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team at (203) 568-1741.
