Brig. Gen. Francis N. Detorie

Brig. Gen. Francis N. Detorie serves as the Chief of Staff - Air, Connecticut National Guard, responsible for the 1,200 Connecticut Air National Guard members that make up its operational and support units. General Detorie is a key military adviser for Air Force matters to The Adjutant General (TAG–CT) and serves as a representative of the Air National Guard senior leadership on the Adjutant General’s joint Army/Air National Guard state headquarters staff.

General Detorie is a 1988 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, after which he attended Pilot Training at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas. His first duty assignment was as an A-10 fighter pilot with the “Flying Tigers,” 23rd Fighter Wing at England AFB, Louisiana. In 1997, General Detorie joined the CTANG as a “Flying Yankees” A-10 pilot, 118th Fighter Squadron. He served as flight commander, Operations Support Flight commander, Joint Force Headquarters Director of Operations, and Wing Commander within the organization. He also served as the Assistant Adjutant General – Air at the Joint Force Headquarters level. Additionally, General Detorie deployed to Southwest Asia five times in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, VIGILANT WARRIOR, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
